I’m Monica Daly, the founder of Justice Through Adversity — a platform dedicated to raising awareness, promoting reform and inspiring hope through lived experience.
I’m a speaker, author, and advocate for survivors of domestic abuse and those affected by failings in the family court and justice systems. But before I became a voice for others, I was one of the many who felt unheard.
My Story
A few years ago, my life changed overnight.
I was falsely arrested — accused of something I hadn’t done — and what followed was a devastating chain of events.
Although the arrest lasted only one night, I was placed on police bail for three months, separated from my children and forced to navigate a broken system that seemed to strip away not only my rights but my humanity.
It was the darkest period of my life.
I was a parent, a professional, a person — suddenly treated like a criminal, isolated, and silenced.
The pain of being separated from my children was indescribable.
But within that pain, I found purpose.
I realised that my experience wasn’t unique — that countless others were suffering in silence under the weight of false allegations, domestic abuse and institutional failings.
And so, instead of letting that chapter destroy me, I chose to turn it into a message of strength and change.
The Birth of Justice Through Adversity
Justice Through Adversity was born from a simple but powerful belief:
“Our stories, no matter how painful, can become the foundations of change.”
Through this platform, I share my story to:
Raise awareness of failings within the family court and justice systems
Advocate for **domestic abuse survivors
